SCEI started as a home project in 1996 and soon accelerated into a fully functional day school and vocational centre. Having grown significantly since the time of conception, the board of governors had it registered as a trust in 2014. The school serves students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, secondary disabilities and autism.
